Going Medieval

So the other day (OK months ago) I went to the mall and was doing some shopping when I saw this shoulder piece (Epaulette?) at BCBG so I had to go and investigate dragging the poor husband into the store to help me decide it it looked good on me or not. So in I went and asked the associate for it, I looked in the mirror and it didn't look very good, after starring at myself for a while I decided to leave the store with no shoulder piece. I believe (hope) that what went wrong is that I was wearing the wrong clothes that day so I have decided I will go back sometime soon and try it on again, but with a more appropriate outfit. Oh by the way I saw these shoes at Jak and Jil which reminded me of the shoulder piece. I think both items are divine but I don't know if I would wear them at the same time... if I owned them.

Fixation

I was browsing at a magazine from earlier this year when I saw these ads that had already caught my attention back when I purchased the magazine so I decided to share, notice a pattern here?

First I noticed a tendency lately for cleaner, minimalistic ads, which might have to do with making garments or accessories stand out. Another thing I noticed is the similarity in the models poses (maybe a little odd), also the hair, on the first 3sads the hair is floating except for the last one but still the hair is placed in such a way that it still looks similar to the other 3. Anyways all of them are beautiful and definitely make you do a double take... or make you stare at them for long periods of time, which is exactly what I did.

Vena Cava

Ohh that Jumpsuit!!!!, and the dress...
 Versace

I have been wanting to buy mint green nail polish and the dress on the right is exactly the hue I am looking for.  The colors  in this collection are yummy and beautiful and the sandals are to die for. Drool

Resort 2011

I will start the first post by sharing my favorite looks from the Resort 2011 collections. I know I am a little late on this, but I was a little hesitant to start this blog with this kind of post ( I am a very indecisive person) but anyways here it goes:

 1.- Lanvin

Hands down my favorite, beautiful pieces, sharp shoulders, amazing wedges, the color palette seemed to be chosen specially for me, all in all Lanvin made me smile and lust for these (like my dear friend Juan would say) EXQUISITE pieces.

2.- Burberry Prorsum

Burberry was a treat a well, the collection covered a little bit of everything that I love: animal prints, draping, trench coats, thigh-high boots, should I continue? I must say I love this collection also because it is sexy while still keeping a military feel to it.

3.- Celine

Clean beautiful pieces, I feel like this collection is very wearable but still very chic, some great accessories as well on this one.

4.- Yves Saint Laurent

Feminine pieces, great colors like fuchsias and lilacs, and dresses!!! I am currently going through a dress phase and these right here are examples of what I am usually drawn to when shopping for dresses. Stefano Pilati is a genius.

5.-Marc Jacobs

POLKA DOTS!!! The predominance of neutral colors was what it first attracted me to this collection, then the fun retro looking dresses, then I saw the polka dots and fell in love, very pin up looking but in a grown up version.

Zero + Maria Cornejo

From the jodhpurs, to the polka dots, to the jumpsuit and the jacket, which by the way I would wear everywhere, this collection feels comfy and relaxed with items ideal for every day.
